Our client, a long standing and reputable non-profit organization is in need of an Assistant Controller to provide support to the Controller in all matters of financial accounting operations.
- Direct daily operations including general ledger, procurement, accounts receivable (cash application), accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, sales and use tax, and cash flow management.
- Assist the Controller with the preparation of accurate and timely monthly and annual financial statements.
- Oversee the maintenance and accurate inventory of all assets and the reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including supporting documentation as required by auditors.
- Direct staff in monthly pre-closing meeting and review analysis of general ledger accounts prepared by staff.
- Develop, implement, and monitor an appropriate system of internal controls and monitor departmental goals and objectives.
- Plan, assign, and direct work of managers and various direct reports.
- Interview, hire, train, and promote the ongoing development of staff.
- Provide timely and ongoing communication to the Controller regarding all areas of responsibility, including personnel and performance issues, and accounting issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
- CPA or advanced degree preferred;
- 8 years of relevant experience;
- 5 years minimum of supervisory experience required;
- Financial reporting; nonprofit and grant allocation experience preferred.
- Experience with 501c3
- Experience with PeopleSoft or similar ERP software required.
